Simon Fraser University (Vancouver): Since August of 2014, Simon Fraser University has became the first post-secondary institution in the world to accept bitcoins for donations. Thus far, Bitcoin donations collected by SFU has enabled its students to go on humanitarian missions across the globe and to work with other non-profits in various regions. Donors who pledge $20 or more in bitcoins are eligible for tax receipts.
